Definition:
S/T Perinatal Data Collections: QLD: Whether pregnancy was achieved via assisted conception and if Yes, the method(s) used to successfully assist conception for this pregnancy. Methods to select include: AIH/AID: Artificial insemination using either the husband or male partner’s sperm or donor sperm. Ovulation induction: ovulation is induced by pharmacological therapy such as Clomid. IVF In Vitro Fertilisation: Co-incubation of sperm and oocyte outside the body of the woman. GIFT Gamete Intra Fallopian Transfer: A medical procedure of transferring an egg(s) and sperm to the body of the woman. ICSI Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection: Involves the injection of a single sperm directly into the ovum, combined with IVF. Donor Egg: The process by which a woman donates eggs for purposes of assisted reproduction. Egg donation typically involves in vitro fertilization technology, with the eggs being fertilized in the laboratory. Frozen embryo transfer/embryo transfer: Embryo freezing gives more opportunity for a pregnancy for each hormone stimulation cycle and egg collection. Frozen embryo and fresh embryo transer are used in conjunction with IVF. Other: indicate the type of method used, eg Assisted hatching, Blastocyst culture. VIC: Whether Artificial Reproductive Technology (ART) was used to assist this current pregnancy. Yes/No tick and also specify type if Yes. (Yes; No; NA) and if not legally married at the time of conception of the child, were you living together as a couple in a marriage-like relationship as domestic partners for 3 years total or 3 out of 4 years? (Yes; No; NA). If you do not meet the requirements of the last question, were you living together with your partner in a marriage-like relationship? (Yes; No; NA). Do you know who the donor was? (Yes; No).

QLD, collect method of ART and provide a free text field to specify "other". Other S/Ts collect yes/no. VIC also has space for free text which may capture method of ART. ANZNN: Data are not published. VIC birth registration collection: Collects informtion on the clinic/doctor who performed the donor treatment procecedure (name and address) but only if the birth resulted fom a donor treatment procedure where the donor is not the mother or the father named on this form.
