S/T Perinatal Data Collections:
VIC: The date and time of onset of labour, labour begins with the onset of regular uterine contractions and is complete when the cervix is fully dilated. The date and time of the start of the second stage of labour begins when the cervix is fully dilated (10cm) and is complete with the birth of the baby. QLD: Stage 1 Begins with the onset of regular uterine contractions and is complete when the cervix is fully dilated (10cm). Stage 2 begins when the cervix is fully dilated (10cm) and is complete with the birth of the baby.
Descriptions:
WA: 1st stage of labour commences when uterine contractions of sufficient frequency, intensity and duration bring about demonstrable effacement and dilatation of the cervix. 2nd stage of labour begins when dilatation of the cervix is complete and ends with delivery of the baby. QLD PMC: Time for first stage, second stage and if birth in hospital then time in hospital before birth. SA PMC: Duration in hours
VIC collect date and time of onset of 1st and 2nd stage of labour and RoM, therefore this item can be derived. Tas PDC collects this information in Obstetrix Tas, a statewide Electronic Perinatal Database that is used in public maternity and publically contracted private hospitals throughout Tasmania.
