Definitions:
METeOR: The age of a product of conception in completed weeks based on the first day of the last menstrual period, ultrasound or physical examination of the baby. For multiple pregnancies, the duration of the pregnancy is the gestational age of the 1st born.
S/T Perinatal Data Collections:
NSW: The estimated gestation of the pregnancy, in completed weeks. VIC: The number of completed weeks of the period of gestation as measured from the first day of the last normal menstrual period to the date of the birth. QLD: The estimated gestational age of the baby in completed weeks and days, as determined by clinical assessment after birth. SA: The gestation at birth may be determined from the date of the first day of the last known menstrual period where dates are considered reliable, and supported by early (up to 20 week) ultrasound assessment of gestational age. The clinical examination of the baby after birth by the clinician will support these or may be used in their absence or where there is uncertainty. In premature babies up to 34 weeks, an assessment of lens vascular maturity may be used. WA: Gestational age at delivery may be estimated by clinical examination of the baby using a chart (provided in the guide) to determine the clinical gestation of live births. the gestation of still birth is based on the duration of the pregnancy.TAS: The estimated gestational age of the baby in completed weeks as determined by clinical assessment. Other S/T: No definitions available.
ANZNN: The estimated gestation of the baby in completed weeks as determined by clinical assessment. WA, SA, NT, QLD Perinatal Deaths Collections: Gestation in completed weeks from LMP. Other S/T Perinatal Deaths Collections: Gestation in completed weeks. ACT PMC: Clinically estimated gestation (weeks). NMMD: If death occurred with an ongoing intrauterine pregnancy or intrapartum, gestational age (weeks) at death.

Births and Deaths Registration Collections collect this item for stillbirths (Birth register) and neonatal deaths (Death Register) only.
 
NPDC also collects gestational age in completed days. This item should be used in conjuction with gestational age in completed weeks.
