Definitions:
METeOR: Status at separation of person (discharge, transfer, death) and place to which person is released. NSW Perinatal Data Collection: The initial separation of the baby from the hospital of birth. SA Perinatal Data Collection: The outcome of the baby: fetal death (stillbirth), discharged (before 28 days of birth), in hospital at 28 days, neonatal death (within 28 days of birth).
Description:
ACT, NSW, VIC, QLD,TAS and NT collect this information as "discharge status" but NSW has an additional value for "transferred and died"; QLD has additional category of "remaining in" if baby is staying for more than 28 days. WA: Refers to whether the baby was discharged home, died or transferred. If transferred to another hospital, then the name of that hospital should be recorded in text in the space provided.
