S/T Perinatal Data Collections:
NSW: The complete expulsion or extraction from its mother of product of conception of at least 20 weeks gestation or 400 grams birth weight who did not at any time after birth breathe, or show any signs of life such as a heartbeat. VIC: The birth of an infant of at least 20 weeks gestation or if gestation unknown weighing at least 20 grams, which shows no sign of life after birth. QLD: A stillbirth is the complete expulsion or extraction from the mother of a product of conception of at least 20 weeks gestation and or 400grams birth weight which, after separation, did not show any signs of life, that is did not have a heartbeat. WA: The complete expulsion or extraction from the mother of a product of conception, of at least 20 weeks gestation or 400grams in weight, which, after separation, did not show any sign of life. TAS: A fetal death prior to the complete expulsion or extraction from its mother of a product of conception of 20 or more completed weeks gestation or 400grams or more birth weight; the death is indicated by the fact that after such separation the fetus does not breathe or show any other evidence of life, such as beating of the heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord, or definite movement of the voluntary muscles. ABS COD: Fetal death is a death prior to the complete expulsion or extraction from its mother as a product of conception of at least 20 completed weeks of gestation or with a birth weight of at least 400 grams. The death is indicated by the fact that after such separation the fetus does not breathe or show any other evidence of life, such as beating of the heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord, or definite movement of voluntary muscles.
Descriptions:
SA: the birth of a fetus at or after 20 weeks gestation/ and or with a birth weight of 400grams or more, with no signs of life at birth. ACT: Refers to death prior to the birth of a baby of 20 completed weeks gestation or at least 400 grams in birth weight who did not, at any time after birth, breathe or show any evidence life such a heartbeat. NT: A fetal death prior to the complete expulsion or extraction from its mother of a product of conception of 20 or more completed weeks gestation or 400grams or more birth weight; the death is indicated by the fact that after such separation the fetus does not breathe or show any other evidence of life, such as beating of the heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord, or definite movement of the voluntary muscles. VIC deaths: A child born of at least 20 weeks gestation or if it cannot be reliably established whether the period of gestation is more or less than 20 weeks, with a body mass of at least 400 grams at birth that exhibits no sign of resipration or heartbeat, or other sign of life, after birth. A still-birth means the birth of a still-born child.
