​Defintion:
Qld PDC: An indicator Yes/No for whether antenatal screening for alcohol use was performed. (High-level and/or frequent intake of alcohol in pregnancy increases the risk of miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth. Alcohol crosses the placenta and nearly equal concentrations in the mother and fetus can be attained. Exposure of the fetus to alcohol may result in a spectrum of adverse effects, referred to collectively as fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD)).
