S/T Perinatal Data Collections: VIC: The complete expulsion or extraction from its mother of a product of conception, irrespective of the duration of pregnancy, which after such separation, breathes or shows any other evidence of life, such as beating of the heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord or definite movement of voluntary muscles, whether or not the umbilical cord has been cut or the placenta is attached; each product of such a birth is considered a live birth. Neonatal deaths are excluded. QLD: The complete expulsion or extraction from its mother of a product of conception, irrespective of the duration of pregnancy, which, after such separation, breathes or shows any other evidence of life, such as beating of the heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord or definite movement of voluntary muscles, whether or not the umbilical cord has been cut or the placenta is attached. SA: The number of previous outcomes refers to the number of specific outcomes for singleton and multiple pregnancies. Live births: this refers to any birth, irrespective of the duration of the pregnancy, which after complete expulsion or extraction from its mother, breathes or shows any other evidence of life, such as beating of the heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord or definite movement of voluntary muscles, whether or not the umbilical cord has been cut or the placenta is attached. Neonatal deaths are excluded.
Descriptions:
WA PDC: collect number of children now living and the number of children born alive now dead. NT: The complete expulsion or extraction from the mother of a baby, irrespective of duration of pregnancy, which after separation shows signs of life. ACT PMC: Livebirths must be 20 weeks gestation or at least 400g in birth weight.
